Nigerian striker Gift Orban looks be on his way back to Ligue 1 as Hoffenheim has decided on player’s departure after only half-a-season spell, Foot Mercato confirms.
According to the report, the 23-year-old forward, who left Olympique Lyon just six months ago, a year after joining the club, is unlikely to be around for long at PreZero Arena.
Having completed his transfer transfer move to Germany forΒ β¬9 million, the Nigerian quickly proved to be a success at Hoffenheim, scoring four goals in his first six Bundesliga matches. The rest of the season was way less eventful for Orban with injuries and less consistent performances that ultimately sent him to the bench.

The German club no longer relies on Orban’s services, and the player is heading towards a departure, and even a return to Ligue 1, as Toulouse FC has emerged with a desire to loan the striker with an option to buy.
Having been looking for a striker since the beginning of the transfer window, Toulouse is poised to seize the opportunity. While it failed to sign Willem Geubbels, who is heading to Paris FC, the club is poised to welcome Orban with open arms.
Last season Orban put six goals under his name across 18 games in Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Europa League.
