Hapoel Tel Aviv are closing in on the signing of Ghanaian winger Douglas Owusu from Red Star Belgrade, with the deal now in its final stages, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
Sources indicate that Hapoel Tel Aviv president Edmond M. Safra is currently in Belgrade to complete the transfer.
Owusu is expected to undergo a medical before the remaining paperwork is signed, with the move likely to be finalised this week.
The 20-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Israeli club, while an agreement between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Red Star Belgrade is also in place.

Owusu joined the Serbian champions in January for a reported €2.2 million after impressing with Radnik, where he played a key role in the club’s Serbian Second League title-winning campaign. He later added the Serbian SuperLiga and Serbian Cup to his honours after joining Red Star.
However, opportunities have been limited for the Ghanaian, who made just 12 appearances following his arrival. The signing of new attacking players, including fellow Ghanaian Osman Bukari, further reduced his chances of regular first-team football.
A move to Hapoel Tel Aviv is expected to offer Owusu a fresh start and the consistent playing time needed to continue his development, with an official announcement anticipated once the transfer formalities are completed.
