Beyond Limits Media Director Muzamil Raji, speaking exclusively with Footy-Africa, has praised Danish club Hobro IK after they have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Onyebuchi Obasi from Norwegian side Vålerenga on a three-year contract.
Raji stated that the move was the right one for the player, who needs regular first-team football to continue his development.
“It was the right move for him and a good decision because first-team opportunities were not forthcoming for him, so he had to make a change,” Raji exclusively told Footy-Africa. “Now, he has joined a team that is known for giving young talents the opportunity to prove themselves. Hobro is a club that trusts young players, so this will be a great opportunity for him to grow and develop.”
“Obasi will also get regular playing time there and, hopefully, show what he is capable of. For the club to offer him a three-year contract shows they have faith in his ability.”

“The club believes in developing young players by giving them opportunities, so Obasi is in good hands and in the right place now.”
The 21-year-old becomes Hobro IK’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window as the Danish side continues to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.
Obasi began his European career in 2024 after leaving Nigerian academy Beyond Limits to join Vålerenga. Widely regarded as one of the academy’s brightest prospects, the former academy captain quickly adapted to life in Europe before spending last season on loan at Swedish side FC Stockholm.
The loan spell in Sweden provided the young forward with valuable first-team experience and played a key role in his development, attracting interest from Hobro IK, who have now secured his services on a long-term deal.
Obasi arrives in Denmark with a reputation for his pace, direct running and versatility in attack. He is expected to compete for a regular starting place as Hobro IK prepare for the new league season.

The move represents another important step in the career of the Nigerian youngster, who continues his steady progression in European football after spells in Norway and Sweden.
For Hobro IK, the signing is an investment in youth and potential, with the club hoping Obasi can make an immediate impact while developing into one of the standout attacking players in Danish football.
