Ghanaian defender Razak Simpson has stated that he remains contracted to Nations FC, despite numerous links to clubs in Africa and Europe.

The 26-year-old captained Nations FC to a fourth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League and has earned multiple caps with the Black Stars, scoring a goal for the national team at the Unity Cup in May 2025.

With questions swirling about his next move, the defender insists he is currently focused on his club.

“Right now, I have a contract with Nations FC, so I’m looking forward to the next season. We just finished the league, so I’m home relaxing. Maybe in a week or two, I’ll start doing pre-season on my own, then take it from there,” he told Footy-Africa.

The centre-back is also determined to help the Black Stars qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team currently sits at the top of Group I following back-to-back wins against Chad and Madagascar.

“Since the season will be starting soon, I have to get ready and prove myself even more because everybody wants this opportunity [to play for the Black Stars]. I just need to improve on a lot of things, work hard, and hopefully, yes, come September—God willing—we’ll qualify Ghana for the World Cup,” Simpson added.

Simpson was recently honoured with the Home-Based Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards at the Ghana Football Awards.
