FC Energie Cottbus, the third German tier football club, have reached an agreement with second-division squad Fortuna Düsseldorf over a loan of Germany-born Ghanaian centre-back King Manu, according to the official statement.
The 21-year-old will wear the FC Energie jersey with the number 2 until the end of the 2025/26 season.
“We had King Manu on our list last summer as well because he is a fascinating player whose style of play fits exactly with what we have in mind. It is all the more gratifying that we have now been able to agree on a signing. In addition to his physique, King also brings many of the qualities required in modern football and, despite his young age, has already shown leadership qualities,” head coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz explained.
Cologne-born King Manu spent his early youth years in the youth academy of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach and later played for SG Unterrath and Ratingen.
His path then led him to MSV Düsseldorf, where he has made five appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for Fortuna Düsseldorf’s first team.
Last season, the 1.95m tall central defender was loaned to F.C. Hansa Rostock, where he made 16 appearances in the 3. Bundesliga.
