Norwegian top-flight club Lillestrøm SK have no intention of sending Nigerian forward Seun Akanji out on loan following his arrival from Sporting Lagos, sources have exclusively told Footy-Africa.
The 18-year-old has completed a move to the Eliteserien side after impressing for Sporting Lagos during the 2025-26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
A source close to the transfer revealed on Footy-Africa that Akanji has signed a contract with Lillestrøm that runs until 2030.
“The deal has been completed for some time now,” the source said. “Seun has been travelling to Norway regularly to train with the team and feature in friendly matches before returning to Nigeria.”
“He has trained with the first team and the coaching staff are very pleased with him. They see him as part of the senior squad and have no plans to send him out on loan. They believe he is ready for first-team football and are confident he will do well in Norway.”
