The future of young Tanzanian striker Selemani Mwalimu at Wydad Casablanca now appears to be doomed as he is no longer in the plans of coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem, who has placed him on the list of unwanted players, according to Africafoot.

Recruited during the last transfer window, 19-year-old player failed to convince the Casablanca club’s coaching staff, struggling to establish himself in the red and white starting squad. His poor contribution led Wydad’s management, chaired by Hicham Ait Menna, to explore options to part ways with him this summer.

According to Africafoot report, among the options a transfer to a club in the Iraqi league was seriously considered. An official offer was even submitted to the club, but Mwalimu categorically refused to move in that direction.

The player’s intention is only to move to a European league, although this plan currently appears difficult to realize, given the lack of concrete offers and negotiations.

The most likely scenario now is a loan to Tanzanian club Simba SC, without a purchase option. This would be a way for Mwalimu to regain playing time in his native country and give a new boost to his career.

Valued at just €50,000, the young player remains a promising prospect in Tanzanian football, but his adventure in Morocco appears to have come to a premature end.
