Mexican side Pumas UNAM (Club Universidad Nacional) advanced in talks with Sevilla FC over the transfer of Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho. According to GolaTV, the deal might be sealed as soon as this week.

Mexico City is believed to be the next destination for the 28-year-old since Pumas UNAM’s representatives have already consulted about Iheanacho’s situation and negotiations are progressing with Sevilla FC.

Pumas UNAM wants to close the signing this week by offering Iheanacho, who is yet to find other career options in Europe, high salary in one of the best leagues in America.

Aiyegbeni, Kanu and 3 other top Nigerian goalscorers in EPL history

Last season on loan at Middlesbrough Iheanacho played 15 games, scoring one goal and making two assists. At Sevilla in the first half of the campaign, he netted three goals in 11 appearances across the Spanish La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
