English Premier League side Fulham completed the signing of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze on transfer deadline day, reuniting the forward with his countrymen, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at the club.

The deal to bring the Nigerian to London is an initial one-year loan deal for the entire 2025/26 season, with the option to make the move permanent next summer for a fee of around £21.6 million.

Marco Silva’s team have added the exciting winger’s talents to boost their attacking firepower, following the departures of Brazilian duo Willian and Carlos Vinicius and England international Reiss Nelson, who returned to Arsenal at the end of his loan spell.

Chukwueze penned the contract in the last hours of the summer transfer window, with a significant increase in his wages. He will earn around £120,000 per week and £6.24 million annually.

The move represents a fresh beginning for the Super Eagles winger after an underwhelming spell in Italy with AC Milan, where he struggled to replicate the dazzling form he displayed during his time at Villareal.

Transfer fee and contract details

Fulham have signed the Nigerian forward on a loan deal and have the option to pay a fixed amount of £21.6 million to make the move permanent in the summer of 2026.

AC Milan were reportedly keen on letting him leave as they continue their rebuild under new manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Fulham were quick to snap up his signature, beating the likes of Atalanta, Fenerbahce and Besiktas to his services on transfer deadline day.

Salary breakdown

Per Capology, Chukwueze will earn about £120,000 on a weekly basis, amounting to about £6.24 million per year, making him the club’s second-highest earner with only goalkeeper Bernd Leno earning more.

Should Fulham complete a permanent deal to sign the Super Eagles winger in 2026, the Cottagers total investment could exceed around £52 million, making Chukwueze one of the most valuable additions in the history of the club.

From Milan to London

Samuel Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villareal as one of the most sought after talents in 2023. He netted 37 times and contributed 31 assists in 207 appearances for the Spanish club and played a key role as they won the UEFA Europa League in 2021.

Now set for a spell in England, the Super Eagles forward will look to put behind his poor spell in Italy and rediscover the form he showed during his time in Spain.
