Norwegian side SK Brann have agreed a deal to sign Senegal Under-20 defender Cheikh Mbacke Diop from NK Lokomotiva Zagreb for a fee in the region of €2.5m, Footy-Africa can confirm.
The 19-year-old centre-back is expected to complete the move early next week after negotiations between the two clubs progressed smoothly.
Journalist Lorenzo Lapore, who is close to the discussions, told Footy-Africa the transfer is effectively complete, describing it as “a done deal”.
Diop only recently signed a contract with Lokomotiva Zagreb until 2029 but has attracted interest following a series of impressive performances in Croatia’s top division.

Known for his mobility and defensive awareness, Diop has averaged 4.61 defensive duels per 90 minutes, winning over 70% of them.
He is particularly effective at defending wide areas, using his pace to track runners and cut out danger, while also showing composure in possession.
Although still developing physically, Diop has demonstrated an ability to use his body well in duels and can win fouls under pressure.
The move represents a significant investment by Brann in a young defender regarded as having strong long-term potential.
