Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare’s nightmarish campaign in the Premier League could be drawing to a close amid growing speculation that the embattled striker will leave Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are facing relegation, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The tall forward joined Wolves from KRC Genk last summer but has struggled to adapt, with both form and goals proving difficult to come by in England’s top flight.

With a modest return of just three league goals and one assist, Arokodare has failed to impress the club’s hierarchy, who may now look to cut their losses on a player who cost around £24 million.

With relegation looming, the striker’s chances of featuring in the Championship appear slim. Sources close to the player have also revealed interest from Turkish giants Beşiktaş J.K..

“It is unfortunate Tolu Arokodare has not been able to get the goals for Wolves this season, but no one can doubt his talent,” the source told Footy-Africa. “He is not going back to Belgium and, from what I know, I also do not think he will play in the Championship with the team.”

“Already, I can confirm to you that Beşiktaş have made enquiries about him as they look to revamp their squad for next season and challenge Galatasaray S.K. and Fenerbahçe S.K.. I heard a rumour about Fenerbahçe also looking at him, but I cannot confirm that. It is the Beşiktaş link that I can confirm.”

The future of the 25-year-old at the club has also come under increased scrutiny following reports in England linking him to a dressing-room altercation with teammate Mateus Mané after their defeat to West Ham United earlier this month.

Arokodare was reportedly the main aggressor in the incident, which occurred shortly after the match. Wolves suffered a heavy 4–0 defeat at the London Stadium on April 10, a result that further deepened their relegation troubles.

He featured briefly in that game, coming off the bench for a 19-minute cameo. However, he was left unused in the following fixture, a 3–0 loss to Leeds United on Saturday.

When asked whether the incident had accelerated Arokodare’s potential departure, the source declined to comment.

“I cannot publicly comment on the issue, but I can tell you it was an internal matter and it has been resolved by both the club and the players involved,” he revealed. “These things happen. It is not unusual, and that is all I can say about the matter.”
