Ghana have shifted their focus to a blockbuster showdown with England after returning to their World Cup base in Providence following a dramatic opening-day triumph over Panama.
The Black Stars touched down in Massachusetts in the early hours of Thursday after their successful trip to Toronto, where Caleb Yirenkyi‘s stoppage-time strike secured a priceless 1-0 victory and handed Ghana the perfect start to their Group L campaign. From there, the squad travelled directly to Providence, Rhode Island, where they have established their tournament headquarters.

With little time to dwell on their opening success, head coach Carlos Queiroz has already begun preparations for the next challenge. The Portuguese tactician scheduled a recovery session at Bryant University on Thursday evening as the squad began the process of regrouping ahead of their highly anticipated encounter with England.
The victory over Panama has injected renewed belief into the camp, with Queiroz praising the determination and resilience shown by his players to grind out all three points. Forward Antoine Semenyo has also switched his attention to the Three Lions, insisting the Black Stars are ready to “prove a point” against one of the tournament favourites.
Ghana understand the significance of Tuesday’s contest in Boston. Another positive result would place them in a commanding position to secure qualification for the knockout stages before their final group fixture against Croatia.

The Black Stars are expected to remain in Providence over the coming days, making full use of their training facilities at Bryant University as they fine-tune tactics, sharpen preparations and build momentum ahead of one of the most compelling matches of the group stage.
