Wolves vs Sunderland match preview

Wolves enter this clash on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, coming after their relegation from the top-flight was confirmed. The West Midlands club have endured a disappointing campaign and are now preparing for life in the EFL Championship next season.

They have only won three times in the league this season, recording eight draws and 23 defeats and they have scored the least number of goals after tallying 24 goals from their 34 matches so far.

Sunderland, on the other hand, have suffered a dip in form after their impressive start to the season, which has also seen them drop into the bottom half of the standings. The Black Cats suffered an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in their last match, piling more pressure on their manager.

However, they have 46 points so far and are only three points behind Bournemouth who are in seventh, meaning they could still seal an European spot if they manage to win their remaining four league games of the campaign.

Sunderland are the better side at the moment and will fancy their chances of getting a favourable outcome from the clash, especially with European qualification in sights.

Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has endured a disappointing debut campaign in England and will be looking to bow out on a high with a goalscoring performance against Sunderland.

His holdup play and aerial prowess could be a decisive factor for the Premier League’s bottom side in this encounter.
