Ghana football legend Anthony Yeboah has expressed satisfaction with the Black Stars squad selected by head coach Carlos Queiroz for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing it as a balanced group capable of making the nation proud on the global stage.
Queiroz recently named his final 26-man squad for the tournament in North America, blending experienced internationals with promising young talents as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

Reacting to the announcement as he spoke to Footy-Africa, Yeboah praised the Portuguese tactician for assembling a squad that offers quality and competition across all areas of the pitch.
“Looking at the squad, I am very satisfied with the players that have been selected. There is a good balance between experience and youth, and that is exactly what you need at a major tournament like the World Cup. We have players who have been there before and understand the pressure, while the younger ones bring hunger, energy and enthusiasm. I believe the coach has chosen a group that can compete strongly against any opponent.”
The former Black Stars striker also highlighted the depth within the team, insisting Ghana possesses enough quality to progress beyond the group stage and make a positive impact at the tournament.
“When you look at the options available in every department, you can see that Ghana has a very competitive squad. The attacking players are in good form, the midfield has experience and leadership, and there is enough quality in defence to handle difficult situations. What is important now is for the players to stay united, work hard and believe in themselves. If they do that, I am confident they can make Ghanaians proud and achieve something special at the World Cup.”
