Ghana forward Felix Afena-Gyan is closing in on a permanent move to Turkish side Amedspor, with sources exclusively telling Footy-Africa that negotiations with Cremonese are now at an advanced stage.

The latest development confirms Footy-Africa’s earlier exclusive report that talks had begun between the two clubs over a permanent transfer following the Ghanaian’s impressive loan spell.

Sources close to the player’s representatives have revealed that Amedspor and Cremonese are close to reaching a full agreement, with the deal expected to be completed in the coming days if the remaining details are finalised.

Afena-Gyan enjoyed a productive 2025-26 campaign, scoring five goals and providing six assists as Amedspor secured promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.

His performances convinced the newly promoted side to pursue a permanent deal, and negotiations have progressed positively in recent weeks.

Amedspor in talks to sign Felix Afena-Gyan on permanent deal

The 22-year-old first caught the eye during his breakthrough at Roma, where he was regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in Italian football after making an immediate impact under JosΓ© Mourinho.

Cremonese signed the Ghana international in a deal worth around €7.5 million, but Amedspor are now close to securing his services permanently for a significantly lower fee.

The proposed transfer has sparked criticism from some Cremonese supporters, who have questioned the club’s willingness to part with the player after such a substantial investment.

Barring any last-minute complications, Afena-Gyan is set to continue his career with Amedspor as the club prepares for its first season in the Turkish Super Lig.
