Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ readiness ahead of their highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Group L encounter against England, insisting the squad is fully prepared for the challenge that awaits in Foxborough.
Fresh from Ghana’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Panama in their tournament opener, Partey believes the team’s intensive preparations over the past week have put them in the right frame of mind for Tuesday’s decisive fixture.
Speaking before the clash at Boston Stadium, the experienced midfielder revealed that morale within the camp remains high and that every player is eager to step onto the pitch.
“I am okay, I am feeling good. We have been training good, everybody is ready,” Partey said. “I think we are here to do our best and to compete with the rest of the teams, and I think the team is ready to fight.”

The former Arsenal midfielder also addressed concerns surrounding player fitness during the demanding tournament schedule, stressing that unforeseen situations are part of football and must be accepted.
“Well, I think it’s part of football, things happen in football that you cannot control. So, for me, now I feel okay and I’m ready to play,” he said.
With Ghana and England both sitting on three points after winning their opening matches, Partey emphasized the importance of maintaining peak physical condition while staying mentally resilient throughout the competition.
According to him, the squad has embraced the hard work required to compete at the highest level and remains focused on controlling what they can ahead of the crucial contest.
“We are all doing well to keep ourselves in good shape by training hard. I think everything is mental. You have to be ready for whatever,” he added. “The minute that your body can go through, you just give your best, and that’s it.”
