Wolves vs Brentford match preview

Wolves have endured a disappointing start to the league season and remain the only side without a win so far, leaving them in an early battle for relegation. The club dismissed former manager Vitor Pereira and appointed Rob Edwards and although performances have improved, results still remain the same. The West Midlands club have gathered only two points this season and are 14 points behind Leeds United in 17th position.

Brentford, on the other hand, were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds United in their last outing, taking their winless run to three matches. The club have managed six wins from their opening 16 league games, most notably big wins over Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle, while they have suffered eight defeats and recorded two draws. The Bees are 15th on the standings with 20 points, although they are just six points off an European spot.

Head-to-Head Record (Last five meetings)

  • 25.05.2025 – Wolves 1-1 Brentford
  • 05.10.2024 – Brentford 5-3 Wolves
  • 10.02.2024 – Wolves 0-2 Brentford
  • 16.01.2024 – Wolves 3-2 Brentford
  • 05.01.2024 – Brentford 1-1 Wolves

Brentford have held the advantage in this clash in recent outings, claiming two victories to Wolves’ single win.

The Bees are also unbeaten in the last three meetings between both sides and were winners at the Molineux most recently in 2024.

Recent Form: Wolves

Wolves are on a poor run of form and are without a win in the league this season, while they have also lost their last 10 games in all competitions.

The West Midlands club have scored the least number of goals of all teams in the league (9) and have also conceded the most goals (35).

Recent Form: Brentford

Brentford have been inconsistent of late and have recorded only one win in their last five matches, a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened Burnley in November.

The Bees have only won once on the road in the league this season, a 2-0 result over West Ham United, but they have failed to score in both of their last two away matches.

Player to Watch: Tolu Arokodare (Wolves)

Iwobi and four other highest earning Nigerian players in the EPL

Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare netted his maiden English Premier League goal with a superb header in the 2-1 loss to Arsenal last time out and will be looking to build on that performance.

The 24-year-old provides a strong aerial presence, bringing physicality and a constant threat from set-piece situations.

Best Betting Odds

Away (Brentford) to Win or Draw – 1.32 (via 1xBet)

Prediction

Despite Brentford’s struggles away from home this season, they still have the quality to secure a positive result, particularly with talisman Igor Thiago in superb form this campaign.
