Turkish champions Galatasaray are closing in on the signing of Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, having reached a deal with Club Brugge this month.

The Lions were previously interested in a deal for the Super Eagles midfielder last summer, but a deal could not be agreed by both clubs over differences in their valuation.

The Belgian club have accepted a fee of around €23 million for the sale of Onyedika, who will sign an initial four-year contract, which could potentially keep him at his new club until 2030 with the option of an additional year. He is also expected to receive about €1 million annually.

From Brugge to Istanbul

Onyedika moved to Club Brugge in 2022 and has become a very important part of the Belgian club, making over 100 appearances for them.

The defensive midfielder is poised for a move to Turkey, where he could team up with compatriot Victor Osimhen and strengthen Galatasaray’s midfield as they defend their league title and compete in Europe this season.
