Ghanaian agent Daniel Boifio Jr, in an exclusive interview Footy-Africa, has revealed that Sevilla’s pursuit of Emmanuel Abrokwa began after the club’s youth sporting director watched the young winger during a training programme in 2025.
Abrokwa recently completed his move from Adabraka Elders to Sevilla, signing a three-year contract that will keep him at the Spanish club until June 2029.
Boifio Jr, who brokered the move alongside Jorge Garcia of SBE Management, says Sevilla have been convinced by Abrokwa’s potential and have a simple plan for his development.
“We believe the move is a step in the right direction. Sevilla want him to progress gradually and make it to the first team,” Boifio Jr told Footy-Africa. “The first six months will focus on helping him integrate, adapt to the environment and become an important player. The club have absolute trust in his potential.”
The agent explained that Abrokwa had attracted interest from European clubs before Sevilla eventually moved to secure his services.
The turning point came when the winger took part in a training programme in Valencia in 2025, where Sevilla’s youth sporting director got the opportunity to watch him.
“Abrokwa was part of a training programme in Valencia in 2025 and Sevilla’s sporting director spotted him. Since then, they have been trying to bring him to Spain,” Boifio Jr said.
Sevilla’s interest intensified from late 2025, with the club continuing to work towards securing the Ghanaian before completing the move this month.
Abrokwa will initially continue his development within Sevilla’s youth setup, with the club keen to gradually prepare him for first-team football.
His camp believes Sevilla provides the right environment for the winger to develop and eventually push for a place in the senior team.
