Nigerian youngster Ebenezer Akinsanmiro facing an uncertain future at Italian champions Inter Milan heading into the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old began his career in the Nigerian Premier Football League with Remo Stars, before moving to Inter in 2023. However, he was initially sent on loan to Sampdoria for the 2024-25 season, before joining Pisa last summer on another loan deal with a clause to sign permanently.
Akinsanmiro enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the club, and while they suffered relegation from the Serie A to the second division, Pisa decided to activate the option to sign the Nigerian youngster on a permanent deal.
However, Inter Milan also have a buy-back clause in the deal and are reportedly preparing to trigger the clause, which would see the young midfielder return to the San Siro ahead of the summer. With competitions for places very intense, it is very likely that the former Remo Stars midfielder gets sent out on another loan deal, or leaves the club on a permanent deal in the summer.
Several clubs are already monitoring the situation heading into the summer transfer window and are weighing up the possibility of a move for the highly-rated midfielder.
Here are four clubs he could end up at ahead of next season.
Bologna (Italy)
Serie A club Bologna are reportedly interested in signing Ebenezer Akinsanmiro ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad for next season.
The former Italian Cup champions have built a strong reputation for developing young players and helping them grow before moving on to bigger clubs.
That could be an attractive option for Akinsanmiro, especially with the assurance of more regular playing time, which would be important for his development at this stage of his career.

Benfica (Portugal)
Portuguese giants Benfica are long-time admirers of Akinsanmiro and were among the clubs interested in signing him from Remo Stars before his move to Inter Milan in 2023.
With another opportunity likely to arise this summer, Benfica could revive their interest in the Nigerian midfielder as they look to strengthen their squad and mount a stronger title challenge after missing out on the league crown since the 2022-23 season.

Sampdoria (Italy)
A return to Sampdoria is also a very realistic option for Akinsanmiro after his impressive loan spell with the Italian second division club during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Nigerian midfielder played an important role in helping Sampdoria avoid relegation to Serie C and his performances left a positive impression.
Another move would suit both parties, especially with Sampdoria hoping to return to the top flight after next season, although it would likely be another loan deal given the financial demands of a permanent transfer.

Venezia (Italy)
Newly-promoted Serie A side Venezia could also emerge as a strong option for Akinsanmiro ahead of next season.
The club are expected to strengthen their squad as they hope to avoid an immediate return to Serie B after suffering relegation in their previous top-flight campaigns.
The Super Eagles midfielder has top flight experience in Italian football and could become an ideal addition for Venezia ahead of the summer transfer window.
