The Ghana Football Association is in negotiations with Jamaica over a possible international friendly as the Black Stars continue shaping their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament set to be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico, Ghanaβs technical bench is working to ensure the squad is fully prepared before heading into the global competition.
In recent years, the Black Stars have lined up against several top-tier opponents in preparatory matches, including Austria and Germany during Otto Addoβs tenure. However, a disappointing string of results ultimately brought Addoβs spell in charge to an end.
Ghana were back in action over the weekend in Puebla, where they fell 2-0 to Mexico at the Estadio CuauhtΓ©moc. The encounter was supervised by assistant coach Desmond Ofei as the team continued its transition under the new technical setup.
The Black Stars are also expected to face Wales on June 2 at the Cardiff City Stadium, but plans for an additional test match have now emerged following a request from newly appointed head coach Carlos Queiroz.

The experienced Portuguese tactician is believed to be seeking one more opportunity to closely evaluate his squad and experiment with tactical options before the World Cup begins.
That move has led the GFA to explore a potential meeting with Jamaica, with talks reportedly progressing positively over a clash against the Reggae Boyz.
Ghana head into the tournament determined to improve on their recent World Cup campaigns after suffering group-stage exits in both 2014 and 2022. The four-time African champions are aiming to reach the knockout stages for the first time since their memorable run to the quarter-finals in 2010.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ghana have been placed in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
The Black Stars will begin their campaign against Panama at BMO Field in Toronto on June 17 before taking on England at the Boston Stadium on June 23. Their final group fixture will see them face Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 27.
