German-born Ghanaian attacker Maurice Boakye is set to embark on a new chapter in his career after parting ways with German giants Hamburger SV at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The highly-rated youngster will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract in June, bringing an end to his brief but productive spell with the Hamburg-based outfitβs reserve side.
Boakye joined Hamburger SV II from VfB Stuttgart II in the summer of 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the standout performers in the regional division. Despite spending only one campaign with Die Rothosen, the forward made a significant impact with his sharp finishing, movement in attack, and consistent performances throughout the season.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an exceptional individual campaign, registering 23 goals and four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for the reserve side in the just-ended season.
Hamburger SV officially confirmed Boakyeβs exit in a social media announcement that also revealed the departure of several players from the clubβs youth and second-team setup ahead of the new campaign.
His impressive displays have already attracted interest from ambitious German clubs, with VfL Bochum and Arminia Bielefeld reportedly monitoring the situation closely as they seek attacking reinforcements for next season.
Both 2. Bundesliga sides are believed to be keen on securing the services of the talented forward on a free transfer once he officially becomes available this summer.
Born in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents, Boakye remains eligible to represent either Germany or Ghana national football team at international level, with his development likely to be monitored closely by Ghanaian football authorities in the coming years.
