Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has become a subject of transfer attention ahead of the summer window with growing interest from Olympique Marseille.
The French club are considering making a move for the Nigerian forward from Sevilla, as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. Les Phoceens have endured disappointments in recent campaigns and narrowly missed out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League last season after a poor run of form in the last few games of the season.
Meanwhile, uncertainty clouds the future of Mason Greenwood at the club, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also leave the club this summer. This would leave them short of options in attack, and Adams has been identified as their top target for that position.
Profile
Adams joined during the winter transfer window in 2025 from French club Montpellier, having previously played for Sogndal and Lillestrom in his career as well.
The Super Eagles forward initially struggled for goals, but found his scoring touch in his first full season at the record Europa League winners, where he scored 10 La Liga goals and finished as the club’s top scorer last season.
Akor Adams dismisses Sevilla exit reports amid Marseille interest
The 26-year-old’s previous experience in the French league makes him an appealing option to Marseille, and settling in would not be difficult as well. Meanwhile, the presence of his compatriot Tochukwu Nnadi at the club would also ease adaptation if he eventually makes the move this summer.
Potential transfer breakdown
Akor Adams has a market value of around €15 million according to Transfermarkt, which ranks him as the most valuable player at Sevilla and the 10th most valuable Nigerian in the world.
However, Marseille are reportedly considering an offer in the region of €18 million for his signature, although Sevilla are likely to demand a fee of around €25 million before they can sanction a transfer.
While Adams has expressed desire to stay in Spain, the Spanish club’s financial struggles could force them into a sale, as the money could be used to reinvest in other areas of their squad.

The 26-year-old earns around €2.4 million annually, and personal terms are not expected to become an obstacle if Marseille step up their pursuit. A deal to sign Adams could see the French giants spend between €30 – €35 million, which would place him among the most valuable arrivals in the club’s history.
