Nigerian youngster Emmanuel Oluwafemi Olawore will continue training with Swedish top-flight side AIK as the club considers a potential move for the Umeå FC winger, sources have told Footy-Africa.
With the Swedish summer transfer window now open, Allsvenskan clubs are actively strengthening their squads, and AIK are understood to be looking for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Zadok Yohanna.
Olawore, who joined second-tier side Umeå FC earlier this year, took part in his first training session with AIK on Tuesday and is expected to remain with the club for the rest of the week before a decision is made on his future.
Speaking after his first session, the 19-year-old expressed his delight at the opportunity.
“It’s a privilege to train with the men’s team at Karlberg during week 29. I completed my first training session with AIK.”
A source close to the situation, Anders Lindberg, told Footy-Africa that AIK will use the remainder of the week to further assess the Nigerian before deciding whether to pursue a transfer.
“He did his first training session with them on Tuesday and he will continue until the end of this week,” Lindberg said.
“I think it depends on how things go. I have no indication they will sign him right now or not. Maybe they will say more next week.”
Olawore moved to Sweden in February 2026 after impressing during a successful trial with Umeå FC, where he signed his first professional contract after leaving Nigeria.
The winger has adapted quickly to Swedish football, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 14 league appearances during his debut campaign.
It remains to be seen whether AIK will follow up their interest with a formal offer before the transfer window closes.
