Chelsea vs Hull City match preview

Chelsea enter this clash on the back of their first Premier League defeat of the season to champions Arsenal in their last match. The Blues enjoyed a superb start under Xabi Alonso, winning their first two league games against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion, before losing to the Gunners in their third game.

Summer arrival from Aston Villa Morgan Rogers opened the scoring in that clash, before a goal in each half by Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard completed the comeback for Arsenal. The London side are now fourth on the standings after three rounds of games.

Hull City, on the other hand, have enjoyed a remarkable start to life in the Premier League after making their return by winning the Championship playoff final last season. The Tigers began their campaign with a stunning 2-0 win over Manchester United in their opener and also defeated Coventry City in their second game of the season.

They went on to hold Aston Villa to a goalless draw in their most recent league outing, leaving them on seven points and in a surprise third position after three games.

Prediction

Chelsea have one of the best attacks in the Premier League and that quality will be too much to handle for Hull City, who will see their unbeaten start come to an end.

The Super Eagles defender has been a key figure in Hull City’s brilliant start to life in the Premier League and even scored their first goal back in the win over Man United.

Semi Ajayi‘s ability to win aerial duels and his defensive qualities will be put to test by a much stronger Chelsea attack in this clash.
