Action resumes in the European qualification series for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an exciting Group A fixture, as four-time champions Germany welcome lowly-ranked opponents Luxembourg to the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim.
Ayomide Oguntimehin provides the lowdown for the October 10th clash.
Germany vs Luxembourg Match Preview
Germany head into the clash in third position in Group A, with three points from their first two matches. They suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat in Slovakia in their opening match, but bounced back a few days later to beat Northern Ireland 3-1 in their second group match. With only the first position in each group assured of an automatic slot, Die Mannschaft must avoid any further slip-ups to avoid an early exit from the qualifying rounds and qualify for a 19th straight appearance.

Luxembourg, on the other hand, have never played at the FIFA World Cup and have struggled in matches against high-profile opponents. They lost both of their first two qualifying games, going down 3-1 to Northern Ireland and 1-0 to Slovakia. The Red Lions head into the clash against Germany, hoping to secure an unlikely win that will dampen their opponents hopes.
