Marseille have made an offer for Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu as they look to sign the Rennes centre-back, sources close to the player have confirmed to Footy-Africa.
However, the proposal has so far failed to meet Rennes’ valuation of the 25-year-old, with talks between the two clubs currently at a standstill.
Seidu has not trained with Rennes in recent days as he pushes towards a potential move away from the club. He is one of six players Rennes have made available for transfer this summer.
Marseille have shown concrete interest by submitting an offer, but Rennes are demanding more before they consider allowing the Ghana international to leave.
Seidu remains under contract with Rennes until June 2029, having extended his deal with the French club in 2025.

The defender joined Rennes from Clermont Foot in 2024 and has established himself as an important option in their defence when fit.
His current market value is estimated at around €9 million, a figure that provides an indication of Rennes’ expectations as Marseille continue to assess a possible deal.
For now, negotiations between the clubs remain on hold, with Marseille needing to improve their offer if they are to make progress towards signing the Ghanaian defender.
