Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool match preview

Nottingham Forest head into the clash in search of a first league win in February, after recording two draws and one defeat in their three games so far in the month. The Tricky Trees also head into the match with their fourth permanent manager of the campaign, which is a new record in the Premier League, following the dismissals of Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche this season.

They currently occupy the 17th position on the standings, three points above West Ham United in 18th place and face a tough battle to beat the drop.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are six on the standings with 42 points, three behind fourth-placed Manchester United as they continue their battle to secure a Champions League spot at the end of the season.

The Premier League champions endured a tough spell between October and November and despite several other inconsistencies, they have won two of their last three league games to put them in contention for a UCL place at the end of the campaign.

However, Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in their last theee games against Liverpool, including a shock 3-0 win in the reverse fixture last November.

Recent Form: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are winless in their last three league matches, recording two draws and one defeat during this run.

The Tricky Trees have also managed just 25 goals in the Premier League this season, which stands as the third worst record in the league, only above Wolves and Burnley.

Recent Form: Liverpool

Liverpool have improved in recent matches and have recorded four wins from their last five matches across all competitions.

The Reds have also managed to keep clean sheets in their last two matches, a 1-0 win at Sunderland in the Premier League and a 3-9 win over Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round.

Player to Watch: Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina will be keen to make a good impression of himself under Vitor Pereira.

The right-back will be one to keep an eye on during the clash as he will be tasked with keeping the left side of Liverpool’s attack at bay.

Best betting odds

Over 1.5 Goals – 1.21 (via betway)

Prediction

Both teams will be keen on impressing and with Liverpool’s quality in attack, this game is highly likely to produce more than two goals.
