Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is back in the headlines ahead of the summer transfer window, with several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, exploring the possibility of a move during the offseason.
The 15-time European champions are planning a significant shakeup in the summer after enduring two trophyless campaigns and are planning to mount a serious challenge both in La Liga against Barcelona and also in Europe.
Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly keen on making Osimhen their top priority as they look to add an experienced centre-forward to their ranks after playing without a recognized one in the last two seasons.
Profile
Osimhen has been one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers in recent campaigns, especially since helping Napoli to the Serie A title during the 2022-23 season, which ended their 33-year wait for a league title.
The 27-year-old then went on to join Turkish club Galatasaray on loan ahead of last season and scored 37 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions to help them to the league and cup double.

He was back in the headlines last summer as well with links to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, while he also rejected a mouthwatering offer from Saudi Arabia to continue playing in Europe, before he eventually joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal for €75 million.
Osimhen has scored 20 goals across all competitions for Cimbom this season and was also equally impressive for Nigeria at the 2025 African Cup of Nations in the winter, scoring four goals at the competition.
The former Lille star’s intensity and work rate are key parts of his game, and his aerial prowess also makes him an exciting addition to any side.
How much will it cost Real Madrid to sign Osimhen
According to Transfermarkt, Victor Osimhen is currently valued at around €75 million, making him the most valuable Nigerian player in the world, as well as the most valued player at Galatasaray.
Despite that valuation, the Turkish side are reportedly holding out for a fee slightly above €100 million before they would even consider a sale, ensuring they make a profit after signing him for €75 million last summer.

Osimhen is also on a salary of €20 million per year, which would mean that any move would require a significant investment.
If Real Madrid are to step up their interest, they would need to move quickly in the transfer window as they face competition from bitter rivals Barcelona and Premier League side Arsenal, who are also looking to secure the services of the Nigerian striker.
