Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)

Arguably Nigeria’s biggest talent in Europe, Victor Osimhen, will represent Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League this season.

The 26-year-old joined the Turkish champions in a €75 million deal this summer, after enjoying an impressive spell while on loan last season.

The former Napoli striker netted seven times in 13 matches for Napoli across two seasons in his previous spell in the UCL, and will seek to add to his tally for Galatasaray this season.

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta)

Reigning African footballer of the year award winner Ademola Lookman will compete for glory with Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League this season.

The 28-year-old is yet to feature for La Dea this season, but was included in their squad for the competition.

Lookman delivered a remarkable hat trick performance in the 2024 Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen, while he also netted five times and contributed two assists in Atalanta’s run to the first knockout round last season.

Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina played a very influential role in Nottingham Forest’s seventh-placed finish in the English Premier League last season and a return to Europe for the first time in 30 years.

The club initially qualified for the UEFA Conference League, but will compete in the Europa League following Crystal Palace’s demotion due to club ownership rules.

Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge)

Raphael Onyedika is another Nigerian international that will participate in this season’s UEFA Champions League, after Club Brugge secured qualification after navigating a tough qualifying campaign.

The midfielder netted against Manchester City last season and will look to lead his side to a better finish this season, after their run to the last 16 in the 2024/25 season.

Christantus Uche (Crystal Palace)

Nigerian international Christantus Uche has enjoyed a remarkable rise in his career and will play in the UEFA Conference League this season with Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old joined the Eagles on transfer deadline day from Spanish side Getafe and will look to shine on the big stage in his first ever European campaign.

Crystal Palace’s demotion from the UEFA Europa League due to UEFA multiclub ownership rules means the club will be eyeing success in the UEFA Conference League this season.
