Atletico Madrid have no intention of selling Nigeria international Ademola Lookman despite reported interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
Galatasaray are exploring attacking reinforcements ahead of their title defence after securing a fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig crown in the 2025-26 campaign. The Istanbul giants finished top of the table to claim a record-extending 26th league title.
Lookman has emerged as a potential target amid speculation surrounding his future in Spain, despite only joining Atletico Madrid from Atalanta in a โฌ40 million move during the January transfer window.

Turkish rivals Fenerbahce also retain an interest in the 27-year-old after previously attempting to sign him before Atletico won the race for his signature earlier this year.
Reports in sections of the Turkish media suggested Lookman could be open to a move to Galatasaray, where he would link up with fellow Nigeria international Victor Osimhen following the striker’s permanent transfer to the club last summer.
However, speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, a source close to Galatasaray, Buchi Laba, dismissed the possibility of a transfer, insisting Atletico have no plans to part ways with the former Atalanta forward.
According to the source, Lookman remains firmly in Diego Simeone’s plans, making any potential move away from the Spanish capital highly unlikely.
Atletico’s stance is further strengthened by recent developments within their attacking department. Antoine Griezmann departed the club at the end of the season, while uncertainty continues to surround the future of Julian Alvarez.

Lookman made an immediate impact following his arrival in Madrid, contributing goals and assists as Atletico reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and the Copa del Rey final.
With Griezmann no longer at the club, the Nigerian is expected to play an even more prominent role for Simeone’s side during the 2026-27 campaign.
